General information
Q. Why do I need to register or login to receive a quote or place an order?
A. By registering with our website, we are able to provide a secure location where you can submit detailed information about your print and mail jobs, and get back quick quotations. This also enables you to retain a history of your quote requests to help you not need to constantly re-invent the wheel.

Q. Is your website secure?
A. Yes. When you use your credit card to make a purchase through our site, the information you provide is protected by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology. This technology ensures that your personal information is protected from outside parties when transmitted from your computer.

Q. What type of file must I send for print orders?
A. We can accept most types of art files. We prefer high-resolution PDFs, whereby you attach the native files, the fonts and any other special attachments that make up your art file.

Q. Can I order a print and not mail?
A. Yes. Or you can order mail, but not print. Or you can order just a mail list. Or you can order just design services.

Q. At what DPI should my images be?
A. At least 300"DPI - files at a lower DPI can make the image look pixilated or blurry.

Q. How do I provide my files for full color digital printing?
A. All graphic files should be built using CMYK. Files submitted in RGB or using PMS colors will be converted to CMYK which could cause a color shift in the finished product.

Q. How do I size my artwork if it has bleeds? A. Your file must be sized at the final trim size plus .25" for bleed (i.e. the finished size of a business card is 2 x 3.50 = 2.25 x 3.75 when it bleeds).

Mail Lists
Q. What is a Business List?
A. A US Mail or Email file of business contacts, selected by your specified attributes, such as type of industry, job title, number of employees, credit status, etc. Business lists can be selected within a specified geographic area.

Q. What is a Residential List?
A. A mail list of households typically condensed to pockets of neighborhoods. Consists of Singe-Family, Multi-Family (apartments), and residential PO Boxes. Residential lists can be selected within a specified geographic area and to households by age, by income, by home value, by percentage of households with children present.

Q. What is a Consumer List?
A. A specialized mail list that targets individuals with different types of lifestyles, such as "ham radio activists", "bicycle enthusiasts", "technology experts", etc. Consumer lists can be selected within a specified geographic area and to individuals by age, by income, by gender.

Q. What is a Political List?
A. A mail list of voters generally targeted to voting districts. Political lists can be selected by Party, Gender, Age, Past Voting Behavior, Ethnicity, and by Precinct.

Q. How do I obtain a mail list?
A. Register or log into the RoadRunner website. Select the "Enter" button under the heading "Grab Your Best Clients with Market-Focused Mail Lists!", specify what type of mail list you are searching for and RoadRunner will email you a quote to allow you to purchase the list.


Kits
Q. What is a Minimum order for Special Kits?
A. All Special Kits are packaged with a minimum quantity and a cost for that kit. You can order more items than are provided within any particular kit. For more information regarding the minimum order for each kits, please refer to each specific kit page on our website.


Postage
Q. What is the minimum quantity of pieces to qualify for discount First Class postage?
A. Minimally 500 pieces for a "stand-alone" mailing. However, RoadRunner has the ability to "co-mingle" sort First Class mail and provide you with great postage discounts for your mailings that do not meet this threshold.

Q. What is the minimum quantity of pieces to qualify for discount Standard Class postage?
A. Minimally 200 pieces for a "stand-alone" mailing. However, RoadRunner has the ability to "co-mingle" sort Standard Class mail and provide you with great postage discounts for your mailings that do not meet this threshold.

Q. Can I get discount postage rates for International Mail?
A. Yes. RoadRunner has the ability to provide presorted, discounted postage rates for International Mail.

Q. How long does it take to mail First Class?
A. The USPS has set their standard for First Class mail to reach its domestic destination point within three working postal days. With the advances in barcode technology, the USPS has made great progress in reducing delivery time for First Class mail to one-day in some areas.

Q. How long does it take to mail Standard Class?
A. The USPS does not quote a guaranteed standard for Standard Class mail to reach its domestic destination point. However, with the advances in barcode technology, the USPS has made great progress in reducing delivery time for Standard Class mail to less than one week in many areas.

Q. Why should I have my mail Presorted and Bar-coded?
A. Presorting and Bar-coding allows you to save money by receiving postage discounts and helps the USPS deliver your mail more quickly and accurately.

Q. Can you presort our mail even if we don't usually print ZIP+4 codes in the addresses?
A. One of the benefits of automation presorting is that our USPS Certified equipment looks up the addresses and applies the correct Barcode while presorting the mail!

Q. What software and equipment do we need so that you can Presort and Barcode our mail?
A. RoadRunner has all of the USPS Certified equipment, software and staff needed to accurately and quickly sort and distribute your mail.

Q. Will I need to buy and maintain any presort permits from the USPS?
A. Yet another benefit of our services is that we already have and maintain all the USPS presort permits needed.

Q. Can you help me to determine the best way to design a mail piece and check it before we get it printed?
A. Get us involved in the initial design and planning stages for your big projects. This enables us to help you plan it right from the start so you end up with the best deliverability and savings possible.

Q: What is Bar-coding and why should I use it?
A: Bar-coding represents zip code information in graphical format. The zip code is represented by a series of vertical lines that enable a piece of mail to be handled with automatic sorting machines at the post office. Bar-coding greatly reduces your postage and increases the speed and accuracy of delivering your mail.

Q: What is Indicia?
A: Indicia is an imprinted permit designation on a mail piece that indicates postage payment. It can be used in place of a postage stamp or metered mail. Our clients can use their own or use ours.

Q: What is Postal Presort?
A: The process of preparing mail by sorting pieces destined for the same area so they qualify for postal discounts.
